Curious Jane Camera Obscura / Theatrical Workshop ↬ 23-28 July 2018
Curious Jane, The People Movers × The Vanderbilt Republic very proudly
invite you to the first performances of the Curious Jane Camera Obscura / Theatrical Worksop,
a blend of girls-only, hands-on STEM programming, modern choreographic practice
and applied physics in theatrical design —
With choreography by Kate Ladenheim, Founder and Artistic Director of The People Movers,
six girls entering 4th - 6th grades in Fall 2018 will experience an open-ended journey
of self-expression via camera obscura, wrapping up with a weekend performance.
The value of mentorship and inspiration from accomplished and established
creative people is paramount to Curious Jane’s programming.
Founder Samantha Razook shared,
“Curious Jane builds a community of confident, inquisitive girls who like to make things.
Our focus, in any capacity or collaboration, is the all-girls experience.
Bringing female artists to work with a small group of girls creates a safe, strong,
and supportive place for girls to share powerful ideas and try completely new things.”
